Russian writer Leo Tolstoy made a simple observation that fittingly describes peace and just activists. He said, “Freethinkers are those who are willing to use their minds without prejudice and without fearing to understand things that clash with their own customs, privileges, or beliefs. This state of mind is not common, but it is essential for right thinking.”
This blog is dedicated to the brave Americans (Jewish, Christian, Moslem, of faith and no faith) who have made the BDS call their common rally for Justice and peace, and who have raised the conscience of their peers to address this issue within their houses of worship, communities, and church Assemblies. These courageous Americans have taken the BDS call and made a formidable effort to teach and learn about the Palestinian plight determined to free Palestinians and Israelis from the bondage of an endless occupation that victimizes both- those who maintain and administer Israel’s occupation policies and their victims- the Palestinians. For several years they have encountered enormous push back from their own congregations, community, and countless of American groups who support Israel’s occupation policies- and yet despite it they have persisted.
Their act of courage will soon free Israel’s occupation victims- the Palestinians, and those young Israelis who willingly or unwillingly execute its policies.
